**Cicinnurus respublica** **Common Name:** Wilson's Bird-of-Paradise Wilson's Bird-of-Paradise (*Cicinnurus respublica*) is one of the most distinctive and visually striking members of the bird-of-paradise family. Endemic to the islands of Waigeo and Batanta in the Raja Ampat region of Indonesia, it is renowned for its vivid coloration, unusual ornamental feathers, and highly elaborate courtship displays. Adult males are characterized by an intense blue crown, crimson back and flanks, and a distinctive yellow mantle. Their most remarkable features are the two curled, wire-like tail feathers, which form an elegant spiral shape above the body. During courtship, the male performs intricate displays on a carefully prepared display court, using his vivid plumage and ornamental feathers to attract females. Wilson's Bird-of-Paradise inhabits lowland tropical forests, particularly areas with relatively open forest floors where males can maintain and display from their court sites. Its diet consists primarily of fruits and arthropods. With its extraordinary coloration, distinctive curled tail feathers, and extremely restricted natural distribution, Wilson's Bird-of-Paradise is regarded as one of the most spectacular and unique birds-of-paradise in the world. **Scientific Name:** *Cicinnurus respublica* **Family:** Paradisaeidae **Common Name:** Wilson's Bird-of-Paradise **Distribution:** Waigeo and Batanta Islands, Raja Ampat, Indonesia **Habitat:** Lowland tropical rainforest
