**Agama doriae** **Common Names:** Doria's Agama, Benoue Agama, Nigeria Agama *Agama doriae* is a distinctive diurnal agamid lizard native to the savanna and woodland regions of West and Central Africa. Its range extends from Ghana and Togo through Nigeria and Cameroon to the Central African Republic, Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, and Ethiopia. In Cameroon, the species has been documented in the northern part of the country. This species is an active, terrestrial lizard that is commonly associated with **savanna, rocky areas, woodland, shrubland, and forest-edge habitats**. It is highly diurnal and spends much of the day basking on rocks, exposed ground, branches, and other elevated surfaces. Adult males can develop strong contrasting coloration, particularly during periods of activity and breeding, while females and juveniles are generally more subdued. Like other *Agama*, males use visual displays and body movements for territorial and social communication. The diet consists primarily of **insects and other small invertebrates**, including crickets, grasshoppers, beetles, roaches, and other appropriately sized prey. In captivity, *A. doriae* benefits from a **spacious, well-ventilated enclosure with intense UVB lighting, a strong basking area, and a cooler zone for thermoregulation**. Rocks, branches, and other elevated surfaces should be provided to encourage natural basking and climbing behavior. **Distribution:** Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, and Ethiopia. **Reproduction:** Oviparous **Origin:** Cameroon **Type:** Wild-caught **Difficulty:** Intermediate **Conservation Status:** Least Concern (IUCN)
