The Sinaev's Stag Beetle (Prismognathus siniaevi) is a distinctive small stag beetle belonging to the genus Prismognathus. The species is distributed across parts of southern China and northern mainland Southeast Asia, including northern Vietnam. Vietnamese populations are particularly interesting among collectors of rare Southeast Asian stag beetles. Males possess compact but strongly developed mandibles with characteristic teeth and projections, giving the species a distinctive appearance despite its relatively small body size. The species shows noticeable geographical variation, and P. siniaevi has been recorded from several mountainous regions across its range. In Vietnam, the species is recorded from northern provinces, and recent specimens have been offered from Yen Bai Province. Wild Vietnamese specimens are highly sought after by collectors because they are relatively uncommon in the hobby and are often available only in limited quantities. Adults are generally small, with males commonly measuring around 20–30 mm depending on locality. Their compact body, dark coloration, and distinctive mandibles make them particularly attractive to collectors who specialize in small and unusual Lucanidae.
