ペア詳細

**Guinea Leaf-toed Gecko (*Hemidactylus muriceus*)** The Guinea Leaf-toed Gecko (*Hemidactylus muriceus*) is a distinctive forest-dwelling gecko from West and Central Africa. It is characterized by its relatively robust body, granular skin, and numerous small, pointed tubercles scattered across the back and tail. **Distribution:** West and Central Africa, including Guinea, Liberia, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and the Republic of the Congo and Democratic Republic of the Congo. **Habitat:** Primarily associated with forest environments, including humid tropical forests and secondary woodland. Individuals may be found on tree trunks, vegetation, rocks, and other surfaces within forest habitats. **Size:** Approximately 8–9 cm (3–3.5 inches) in total length, with a snout-to-vent length of around 4 cm. **Diet:** Primarily insectivorous. Suitable prey includes crickets, roaches, flies, moths, and other appropriately sized feeder insects. **Behavior:** Mainly nocturnal and terrestrial to semi-arboreal. It is an active hunter and may climb on trees, rocks, and other surfaces at night. **Appearance:** The body is generally brownish to grayish and is covered with fine granular scales and scattered pointed tubercles, giving the species a distinctive rough and spiny appearance. **Origin:** Wild-Caught (WC), Cameroon. **Difficulty:** Intermediate. A well-ventilated enclosure with cork bark, branches, climbing surfaces, hiding places, moderate humidity, and appropriate temperature gradients is recommended. **Taxonomic Note:** *Hemidactylus muriceus* has a history of confusion with several closely related African *Hemidactylus* species. Older records should therefore be interpreted carefully, particularly when locality information is unavailable. **Special Feature:** This species is particularly attractive to keepers interested in uncommon African forest geckos and natural wild-type specimens.
