**Marbled Running Frog (*Kassina maculosa*)** The Marbled Running Frog is a distinctive African frog in the family Hyperoliidae. It is native to Cameroon and parts of Central Africa, including the Central African Republic and northern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Despite belonging to the reed frog family, *Kassina* species are unusual in that they are primarily terrestrial and are known for their characteristic walking and running movements rather than typical climbing behavior. *Kassina maculosa* inhabits a variety of humid environments, including lowland secondary forest, savanna, montane forest, grassland, wetlands, and agricultural landscapes. It has been recorded from elevations reaching approximately 2,600 meters in Cameroon. The species is closely related in appearance to *Kassina decorata*, but the two are recognized as distinct species based on consistent differences in head and dorsal markings as well as their geographic distributions. **Scientific Name:** *Kassina maculosa* **Common Name:** Marbled Running Frog **Family:** Hyperoliidae **Distribution:** Cameroon, Central African Republic, northern Democratic Republic of the Congo **Habitat:** Forest, savanna, montane grassland, wetlands, and farm bush **Lifestyle:** Primarily terrestrial **Conservation Status:** Least Concern An unusual and attractive African running frog, well suited to specialist amphibian collections and keepers interested in lesser-known Cameroon species.
