**Xenopus longipes** **Common Name:** Lake Oku Clawed Frog *Xenopus longipes* is a highly distinctive aquatic frog endemic to Lake Oku in the volcanic highlands of western Cameroon. It occurs at an elevation of approximately 2,200 meters, making it one of the most geographically restricted species within the genus *Xenopus*. This fully aquatic frog has the characteristic flattened body and powerful hind limbs typical of clawed frogs. Like other members of the genus, it is adapted to an aquatic lifestyle and spends most of its time in the water. Unlike the widely distributed African Clawed Frog (*Xenopus laevis*), *Xenopus longipes* has an extremely limited natural distribution and is known only from Lake Oku. Its isolated high-altitude habitat and restricted range make it a particularly unusual species for amphibian enthusiasts and specialists. The species is recognized as the Lake Oku Clawed Frog, with Savannah Clawed Frog also recorded as an alternative common name. **Scientific Name:** *Xenopus longipes* **Family:** Pipidae **Distribution:** Endemic to Lake Oku, western Cameroon **Habitat:** High-altitude freshwater lake **Elevation:** Approximately 2,200 m **Lifestyle:** Fully aquatic **Availability:** Extremely uncommon in the international amphibian trade
