**Python sebae** **Common Name:** Central African Rock Python / African Rock Python *Python sebae* is one of Africa’s largest python species and is widely distributed across sub-Saharan Africa, including Cameroon. It inhabits a variety of environments such as forests, savannas, wetlands, and areas around rivers and other permanent water sources. This powerful constrictor has a robust body, a broad triangular head, and distinctive dark blotched patterns over a brown, gray, or olive-colored background. It is primarily nocturnal and is an excellent swimmer, often remaining close to water. Its diet consists mainly of mammals and birds. Adults commonly reach around 3–5 meters, while exceptionally large individuals may exceed 6 meters. Females are generally larger and heavier than males. The species is oviparous, with females laying large clutches of eggs and remaining coiled around them during incubation. *Python sebae* is a highly impressive species for keepers interested in large African pythons, combining enormous size, striking natural coloration, and a strong association with aquatic habitats. Due to its eventual size and strength, however, it requires substantial space, secure housing, and experienced handling. **Distribution:** Sub-Saharan Africa, including Cameroon **Adult Size:** Commonly 3–5 m; exceptionally large individuals may exceed 6 m **Diet:** Mammals and birds **Activity:** Primarily nocturnal **Reproduction:** Oviparous
